La Rue Amelie

This is Rue Amelie.  The streets are so narrow!

That's the door to our sweet little apartment.  It's on the third level.

This is the main room.  There's also a wee kitchen and a bathroom.

Okay...not the greatest vantage point, but there's ME, and a STARBUCKS and the EIFFEL TOWER.  Only a block from our apartment.

Must scoot.

We stopped by the apartment to drop off some cash (fresh from the machine), some postcards, a few unneeded and suddenly heavy items out of our bag...and thought I'd tell you that today is FABULOUS! It is sunny, warm  and wonderful. So far we ventured on to our street, Rue Amelie, and then to the Rue Cler market which is one street over. It's just as I envisioned. We had lunch at a little cafe, and I had a croque monsieur - the famous French grilled ham and cheese. And our first baguette. Found a Starbucks, but didn't stop...yet. I'll try some French coffee next.

Well, time to find the Eiffel Tower. I've heard there's pink toilet paper in the loos there.  I'll let you know later...

Au revoir!
