Le Cordon Bleu

Those of you who know me well know that I *loved* the movie "Julie and Julia."  I loved it.  I saw it first with my brother Jon in Vancouver, BC last summer, and that got he and I on a book crawl.  We went all over Vancouver looking for old, used Julia Child cook books.  What fun we had.

Then I saw it with Frank.  And then I saw it in Door County with my sister Sally and my two daughters.

I'm currently reading "My Life in France" by Julia Child - a memoir written by Julia after the death of her beloved Paul.  It is snippets of their years in France - treasured memories.  As I [slowly] read, I look up the hotels and restaurants, and mark them on my Paris map.  We might have to do a Julia tour while we're there.

So, although we've left our trip rather loose - lots of plans but nothing cemented - I did sign us up for one class.  At the Cordon Bleu.  Imagine my excitement when I saw that they offered a class entitled "An Evening in Honor of Julia Child."  It is offered once a month in Paris this year, due in part to the popularity of the movie.  And guess what!?  It's offered on our *last night* in Paris.  Of course I signed us up!

You can read about the class here.

I'm not sure I'll be able to spell beef bourginoion when I return, let alone cook it, but...  what fun it will be.
